Yes; the baby wombat was on the SIDE OF THE ROAD. Her actions, though a little bit naughty, probably saved its life if the mother of the wombat then scarpered away from the road with it. It's a total NON-EVENT!!!

Seeing the baby wombat, her mind seems to have switched into 'untold excitement for social media content' mode and she made a mistake.
She should've taken the camera to the wombat.

Anyway, in the end mother and baby were reunited and departed the scene together.
She didn't kill the baby.

Moral of the story:
"Think before you rush to make social media content".

Two young American males rushed into the surf at Bondi Beach Sydney, camera in hand to film their exciting experience.
They nearly drowned, had to be rescued.
They broke the golden rule ..."Only swim between the flags at lifeguard patrolled beaches".
