We know it would slow it down. There are plenty of examples throughout history of walls working. Just as confident we are that a wheel will roll downhill, we are confident that a wall would limit the number of people sneaking over our Souther border.

It probably would impede border crossing traffic. People say Trump had 400 miles built, but 360 of those miles were repairs to existing barriers. 40 miles of new wall on a 2,000 mile border doesn't do much at all.

I agree, it is not enough. We need a fortified wall that spans as much of the 2000 miles as possible. That would limit the amount we would need to actively monitor with border personnel. The remaining wall would have cameras that would alert law enforcement when necessary.
