How is the attack on Iran different.

This is more than one scenario for ending this campaign, depending on how Iran reacts, both internally and externally. Trump has hinted that it could be over in a couple of days.

Let's hope for the best. A free Iran would be much better than the old terrorist Islamic state. That benefitted no one. The US should help towards that end.Not set up a puppet government like Russia does.

You make a good point Stann. Kudos. I usually never agree with you.

No boots on the ground.
Not publicly acknowledged anyway.
There's a good probability that some SOF have been inserted and other SOF may be standing-by, about to be.

While it's ideal to let the Iranians carry the load, do heavy lifting, they may need some help getting organized. Also, "advisors" to pass on intel and/or direct tactical air strikes, etc.

Not recommended to do a job like this half-way, which USA has done that too often, especially when we shouldn't have and had resources to get the job done right. Problem has been "Leadership" that lacked resolve.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, Trump's opinions have change over the years, like most everyone?
Doubtful , Iraq was a mistake. Iran could be an even bigger one. It's 4 times the physical size of Iraq and has double the population. The only thing good we've got going for us is that 70-80% of the population hated their government
That alone is impetus for change. Hopefully to a secular free nation. I do still wonder if this could be the factor that began the Asian wars of the early 2030s. I thought it was Pakistan but it could have been Iran. We'll just have to wait to find out again.
