The question of UN and I might add media bias against Israel came up in another thread and I though the subject sufficiently interesting to warrant its own thread.
Alright. Pencils down and eyes to the front. Class is now in session.

Israel routinely faces more criticism and condemnation at the United Nations than any other country...
I've already proven the UNSC portion of this claim was bullshit when I picked one year [2013] out of random and found out of 65 resolutions that year, only 2 were on Israel. And even those 2 were shared with Syria.
As far as the UN general assembly portion of the claim, see below. Out of 57 resolutions passed in 2013, none were on Israel.

Emergency Special Sessions of the United Nations General Assembly are rare. No such session has ever been convened with respect to the Chinese occupation of Tibet, the Indonesian occupation of East Timor, the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, the slaughters in Rwanda, the disappearances in Zaire or the horrors of Bosnia. In fact, during the last 15 years they have been called only to condemn Israel.
In
2013, there were 57 UN General Assembly resolutions passed. Out of those 57, zero, none, "0", donut, nada, were on Israel.

Whereas Arab states have traditionally used UN fora to demonize and isolate Israel (for example, they routinely attempt to deny Israel its credentials), they now believe they enjoy "Western" support which emboldens them.
It's a little hard to say they "deny Israel its credentials", when they ******* admitted them into the UN as a member state!

The latest Emergency Special Session, called to address Israeli construction at the Har Homa site, set in motion steps to de-legitimize Israel and to bring it to its knees. During its July meeting, the Session considered a resolution that requested member states "not to allow any import of goods produced and manufactured in occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem" -- a virtual boycott and collective sanctions against the state.
This is a protest of Israel's violation of IHL. You cannot build Palestinian sweat shops in an area of occupation. Choosing not to buy Israeli products made from cheap labor in the OPT, is not anti-Semtism.

During its November meeting, it took a further step towards making Israel an outlaw state. In a vote of 139 to 3 with 13 abstentions, it set in motion the eventual convening of states parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, which grew out of the Nazi occupation of Europe.
Of coarse they're going to do this. When you break the law, you will be held accountable. And Israel has broken the 4th GC many times.
Are you saying Israel is above the law?

On Sunday, October 11, the Los Angeles Times ran the headline “6 Palestinian Teens Die Amid Mideast Unrest.” It was, technically, true. But it left out a few key details. Try the opening sentence, instead: “Two Palestinian teenagers were shot to death Saturday in Jerusalem, officials said, after they carried out separate stabbing attacks on an ultra-Orthodox Jew and two Israeli police officers.”
And here's one of those details...
The IDF placing a knife next to the body he just shot.

There has been much discussion recently of Hamas attempts to intimidate reporters. Any veteran of the press corps here knows the intimidation is real, and I saw it in action myself as an editor on the AP news desk.
This is bullshit for the very reason that Israel does not allow international reporters into the area.
From my link:
When Israeli military forces launched an invasion into the Gaza Strip, international journalists were barred entry into the territory by the Israeli government for the majority of the conflict, despite a ruling from the Israeli Supreme Court that called on the government to allow international reporters into the territory. Major international media outlets, including CNN and the BBC, ended up reporting from hilltops in Israeli-controlled territory kilometres away from the actual conflict.

The fact that Israelis quite recently elected moderate governments that sought reconciliation with the Palestinians, and which were undermined by the Palestinians, is considered unimportant and rarely mentioned.
This is a load of crap! How can you possibly say with a straight face the Likud Party is "moderate", when their leader publically states there will be no Palestinian state on his watch?
