“The U.S. economy slowed to a crawl in May, with consumers pulling back on spending and businesses delaying hiring, according to the Federal Reserve‘s Beige Book survey released Wednesday.

According to the report, nine of the 12 Fed districts reported contraction in economic activity or no change in growth. The remaining districts saw slight growth.”

All Trump had to do was nothing, simply allow President Biden’s strong economy with historic low unemployment to continue to flourish.

Trump destroys everything he touches.

Meh, I'm spend like mad....Home renovations and such.....Just added a new deck to the list today. That means jobs.

I guess that does not count in the batshit crazy dem world since I can afford a home.

One guy's anecdote doesn't really change the numbers.

Me and mine is all that matters.

:auiqs.jpg: Biden's strong economy??? High inflation, High interest rates, High gas prices, High electric prices, High egg prices and food prices in general, High illegal border crossings with high human trafficking, High drugs pouring across the border, High number of legal immigrants and American citizens of Hispanic origin out of work that has been stolen by the Biden illegal aliens, High number of wars started around the world. We could go on an on about the mess Biden left the country and the world. I'm going to say this report is mostly partisan and false.

The economic news I read today was the disappointing jobs report by ADP. Last month I had read that businesses were holding off on future plans because of the unclear tariff situation. Seems the media knew what they were talking about based on the numbers.

ADP reported a gain of 37,000 private sector jobs in May, the weakest since a negative reading for March 2023. Economists expected 110,000 net new jobs. The gain in April's jobs report was trimmed to 60,000 from 62,000.

I'll be interested in Friday's employment report put out by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and what that shows for how things went in May.

I don't think this has much to do with the tariffs. Has more to do with not being able to get illegal aliens out of the country fast enough to open up jobs for citizens and legal aliens. The inflation is low and interest rates should be headed down too based on the numbers. Not everything goes up and down at the same time. The trend is much better for our economy since Trump took over.

You really need to quit repeating lies. All these things were created by the pandemic. Trump's mismanagement of the pandemic had a lot to do with the problems that came here after Biden pulled us out of the death phase. There were no jobs stolen by illegals, wars have gone on around the world during every presidency, and they aren't stopping because of Trump. So you can pretend what you want about the report, but reality is what it is.

The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for March was revised down by 65,000, from
+185,000 to +120,000, and the change for April was revised down by 30,000, from +177,000 to
+147,000. With these revisions, employment in March and April combined is 95,000 lower than
previously reported
. (Monthly revisions result from additional reports received from
businesses and government agencies since the last published estimates and from the
recalculation of seasonal factors.)

The estimates hit rather well after final revisions are taken into consideration. Skipping the media and accessing the news release directly, it is interesting to which industry sectors are gaining and losing jobs as written in the Bureau's report. Winners in May were Health Care, Hospitality, and Social Assistance jobs. Federal government employment continues to be the loser.
