Hasn't the right spent years advocating for the right to plow through protestors? Hopefully the driver is found and arrested. The toppling of an authoritarian religious government is something to be happy about.

No. If you are trying to drive down the street and end up face to face with these crowds that are not supposed to be in the street, and you start pounding on the vehicle and trying to break the windows, the driver can reasonably assume that if you gain access to the vehicle, he could be in danger and therefore has the right to move his vehicle out of the areas.
The police should be stopping these kind of disruptions. If you are blocking the movement of vehicles and won’t let them pass, you are illegally attempting to detain them, and they have a right to push you out of the way with their vehicle.
You shouldn’t attempt to run them over. Do your best to navigate around them, but, if you intentionally put your self in the way by moving to stay in front of their vehicle when you try to turn to avoid them, well, don’t get mad if you get hurt.
Point of the story, stay out of the streets, don’t interfere with other people.

No need to explain common sense to me. I just wanted to point out how the right has spent years saying it should be fine to plow into protesters.

And I’m saying you’re wrong. I’ve never heard anyone advocate for the right to “plow” into protesters, only that, if they intentionally get in your way and if they try to enter your vehicle, they might get hurt as you try to leave.
