It always is debatable, and I am certainly not saying, someone cannot sneak up on you, shooting first, robbing later. But, if armed, weapon locked & loaded in shoulder holster, you do not even have to make overt moves, that tip off you have your defense ready and if need be, your car door will not significantly slow the many rounds from your magazine, possibly necessary to stop the threat, so your chances are better. But, not having, sometimes might mean you are simply screwed and possibly loved one, too. I'll take whatever edge, I can get, for myself, and anyone traveling in my vehicle. Shoulder holster is very convenient in vehicles, while being very comfortable.
