In a Republic, actually
ā€œThe idea is that making foreign products more expensive would encourage U.S. companies to source more and consumers to buy more products at home.

But experts say there’s one major flaw with that plan: Very few generic drugs are actually made in the U.S.

Over the last several decades, generic drug manufacturing has increasingly moved overseas as production in the U.S. has become less profitable.

Dr. Aaron Kesselheim, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said that about half of all generic drugs are manufactured overseas and that about 80% of all active pharmaceutical ingredients, or APIs, are produced abroad, in China, India and other places.

Generic drugs are the backbone of medicines prescribed in the U.S.: They account for about 90% of all prescriptions filled, according to the Association for Accessible Medicines, a trade group that represents generic drugmakers.ā€

And that major flaw applies to far more than just generic drugs, it applies to most other consumer goods.

Indeed, US companies aren’t going to start producing goods in the United States because the cost of labor is too great; jobs won’t be ā€˜coming back’ to America the result of tariffs – goods will continue to be manufactured overseas with Americans forced to pay higher costs.

Further proof of Trump’s incompetence and stupidity and that Trump is unfit to be president.

Monkeys COULD fly out of your butt, however that is not likely. Trump doesn't take office until January doofus.

Sure, but he and his sycophants don't know who pays the tariff tax.

.and yet he is president once again....

We might be better off.

I had a prescription for Farxiga....CVS decided to fill it with a generic. The cost was almost $300.00! Fuck that!

I said that was not what I was prescribed and to give me the name brand.....It was $15.00 for a 90 day supply as normal.

Goodness knows how many people are getting ripped off that way.

Sounds like a good time to cut back on public assistance as Musk is saying he will do.

All of a sudden Biden ass lickers are concerned about rising costs . Yet for 4 years they were silent like lambs.

A bunch of Bidens tariffs went into effect in sept.
WashingtonCNN —
The Biden administration said Friday that it has finalized tariff hikes on certain Chinese-made products that the president first announced in May.

The tariff rate will go up to 100% on electric vehicles, to 50% on solar cells and to 25% on electrical vehicle batteries, critical minerals, steel, aluminum, face masks and ship-to-shore cranes beginning September 27, according to the US Trade Representative’s Office

But, but, but...Trump.

Bunch of pathetic blind partisans.

Again, targeted tariffs, not a blanket tariff.
