Donald Trump got his number from an a straw poll from a CPAC crowd.
That's right. A straw poll.
even the inaccurate and conservative Rasmussen has Trump's approval among Republicans at 78% while ABC / Washington Post has it at 82%.
Trump therefore is full of s*** and way off:

"According to the consistently Trump-friendly pollster, his approval among Republican likely voters is 78 percent."
...
"So what is Trump’s approval among Republicans? Well, polling conducted by The Post and ABC News has his recent approval at 82 percent"

So Trump's claim of 92 was true early in 2020, and will probably be true again closer to the election after Republicans fully grasp the democrat's agenda.
 
Well yes, closer to 100% if RINOs are counted as not republican.
