He wasn't there to end the war.‘Trump on Sunday really reached to criticize outlets for their coverage of his peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“If I got Russia to give up Moscow as part of the Deal, the Fake News, and their PARTNER, the Radical Left Democrats, would say I made a terrible mistake and a very bad deal,” he wrote on Truth Social. “That’s why they are the FAKE NEWS!”
Trump was perhaps smarting over negative headlines like: “In Alaska, Trump gifts Putin more time to grind down Ukraine,” and leads like “Nothing says standing up to Russian aggression quite like welcoming the aggressor on a red carpet and applauding him. On Friday, Donald Trump did both.”
There was no deal reached at the summit to end Russia’s 3-year-plus invasion of Ukraine. The conditions being presented to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who will meet with Trump on Monday, seem to be: Surrender chunks of territory, perhaps including unconquered land, for little in return.’

There have been about 1.5 million killed in this Russia/Ukraine war and Russia has taken about 2/3 of the casualties. Seems Putin is the one facing 'severe consequences.' Especially considering we will be occupying rare earth mining in the Ukraine and will still be supporting Ukraine through giving them NATO funded armaments. Not to mention economic sanctions Trump will put on Putin.
