I found this interesting. Time will prove this out one way or the other. If Trump's words causes a defeat for the Conservatives in Canada what will be the fall out?

For over a year, Canada’s Conservative Party seemed on track to win a decisive victory in the next election as Justin Trudeau’s governing coalition crumbled. Now, nothing seems guaranteed — and the reason is Donald Trump.

The national mood has changed and with it the landscape for this year’s vote. Trudeau’s Liberal Party is making gains in public opinion surveys, even though its members haven’t chosen his successor yet.

The more they reveal what Democrats have been up to, the more it will show everyone around the world that liberals (and money) are the root of all evil.

I loved a line in that piece....

...."it also found that voters most worried about Trump tend to believe the Liberals are best to handle him."

Classic....Chicken Littles everywhere.....

This has far less to do with Trump and more to do with Trudeau passing the torch. He has been in power almost a decade so his announcement of stepping down gave the liberals a bump, how can any party be judged when they don't even have a leader yet?.

If and when tariffs are applied by Trump, than we will see the real shift. Why? None of Canadas responses are going to improve citizens situation but the Conservatives can say "if we had followed a path of civil liberties (I doubt they will say this but he WAS saying it at the point they were most popular. Funny how libertarianism works, but Canadian Cons seem to avoid it) and free market competition, we would have our own auto industry, high tech developments, mass oil exports, no carbon tax etc".

The issuance of tariffs will be the inflection point and if liberals respond strongly and nothing changes for Canadians who are already making $25k less than Americans while also experiencing a much higher cost of living, than the liberals will be blamed for this poor planning over 10 years and the conservatives will surge again.

This is why I presume they continue to delay in getting the liberal replacement election going, they don't want Trudeaus replacement to deal with the tariff response because we don't really have any great options other than "we will tariff you too!".

That doesn't help Canadians, 100k homeless in Ontario ALONE! We don't even have free trade among provinces, nor free competition in telecom, banking, dairy etc so Americans will receive a wave of our top talent I'm sure. The centralized oligarch is in decline and these oligopolies across so many industries are becoming FAR less palatable to Canadians who are sick of spending $100 a month on a cell phone plan.

Don't blame me, I've been the Messenger for 20+ years, they ignored me in every respect and every tied the noose tighter. A great lot the S.I.C are...

You unfortunate people never had a leader under Trudeau

Pull your head out of your ass, and start reading the real news and find out what’s going on in the world. If you don’t know what’s going on, don’t bother to post.
STFU asshole.
Trump said he was raising tariffs on Canada. That's not an attack.

An attack is saying Canada is like Hitler and you will declare war on them.

Poilievre will be the next PM and will tell Trump to shut up.

He said he’s going to make Canada the 51st State by “economic force” if necessary. He claims the USA is subsidizing Canada and he can’t allow it to continue.

Quite frankly, I don’t give a rats ass how you characterize it. Canada and the rest of the free world has characterized it as an attempt to attack Canada.

Go back and stick your head up trumps ass where it belongs.
