A little off-topic but it makes one wonder about NY state in general. Outside of NYC is almost like a different country.

Have any of you ever been there?

I remember going through upstate NY many years ago and it was a beautiful, rural area with lakes and forests and little towns and villages with warm, welcoming people.

Most people in NY look at the state as New York, Long Island and "Upstate"

I grew up in upstate NY and most of it is Republican
