The billionaire businessman faulted Martinez for an increase in unemployment and the number of people using food stamps in the state over the past 16 years and told the crowd that it wasnât their fault â itâs their governorâs fault. Martinez was elected in November 2010.

Trump Slams Gov. Susana Martinez While in New Mexico: âSheâs Got to Do a Better Jobâ
Yes, for the most part, it is the government's fault that many are unemployed, working part-time, working at jobs that pay less than they did 8 years ago, working at jobs through temp services, and working with less company paid benefits. There are several factors that have adversely affected the jobs market in this country, and for the most part, nearly all of them are the direct fault of the government.
EXAMPLES:
(1) Our unfair, unjust, and one-sided foreign trade agreements and policies.
(2) Millions of illegal immigrants living and working in this country.
(3) Importing labor from foreign countries.
(4) Off-shore out-sourcing jobs to cheap foreign labor markets.
(5) America has become import dependent.
(6) America no longer produces what America uses and consumes.
(7) High union wages and union benefits have caused union made products to be unaffordable for many citizens.
(8) Businesses relocating to foreign countries in order to take advantage of cheap labor and favorable tax policies.
(9) Our standard of living does not permit American workers to work for $10.00 a day wages like some foreign labor markets.
(10) Our labor laws do not allow businesses to use child labor, nor to work children 16 hours a day in sweatshops.
(11) We have restrictions and laws that other countries don't have. ( U.S.D.A., FDA, OSHA, EPA, FCC, etc. )
******** NOTE:
We have lost all or part of many industries to cheap foreign labor markets over the past 50 years. An example would be the textile, steel, automotive parts, furniture, appliances, tools, toys, farm equipment, electronics, customer service via phone, medical billing, computer programming ( importing programmers ), and some food products.
American businesses do not have a level playing field to compete with cheap foreign made goods and services. We've sacrificed our economic well-being in favor of supporting foreign economies via unfair, unjust, and one-sided foreign trade agreements and policies.
