Trump has been focusing on Ontario and B.C it seems. He realizes how poor these provinces are and also knows Alberta and some other Western countries are unhappy and are threatening to separate.

Whether it is his decision alone or with intel/State Dept help, these seem really focused targets. The reminder of how far Canada has fallen, if he did this to say Finland, Sweden or some other human rights defending nation people would be more critical. It's as if Americans know what kind of Police State we have in Canada and they say, "well, we don't truly share the same values anymore anyways".

Ontario will be insolvent after decades of abusing their citizens.

B.C.'s forestry sector is awaiting the results of a U.S. Commerce Department investigation into the imports of wood products, which could impose further tariffs on the beleaguered industry.

It comes months after U.S. President Donald Trump launched a Section 232 investigation into whether importing timber, lumber and derivative products could pose a national security threat to the U.S.

The prospect of further tariffs on B.C.'s softwood lumber industry in particular — which is already dealing with a high 35 per cent duty imposed by the U.S. — could mean even more mill closures and job losses, experts say.
