President Trump told reporters on Friday he is considering signing a “brand new order” on immigration as his original executive order faces legal trouble.

The comments, made aboard Air Force One, come after the administration signaled it would not ask the Supreme Court to review an appeals court decision that keeps the travel ban frozen.

Yeah the 9th apparently raised a point that clarification policy of letting citizens back in wasn't good enough and his lawyers thought that might have legs in the Supreme. He'll have to put it in the EO if he goes for another round. I suspect it depends on what the vetting procedure creator folks have figured out thus far.

They missed putting in one clarification to allow citizens back in after a secondary screening, shit happens. They corrected it verbally within a couple hours, but law's a stickler for what's written down.

Aside from that rather minor point, everything in it was completely legal and would get through - which is why I suspect President Trump will rewrite it rather than take the current one to the EO, I also suspect he'll address 'other' countries that may have come up who needed to be added to it.

I find it amusing that the lefties are running around celebrating like it was some triumph, yet the reality is that they lost - even in the 9th they lost on the premise of it. Yes indeed President Trump can stop refugee immigration with an EO.
