In a major anti-inflation speech in a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Trump said > "Starting the day I take the oath of office, I will rapidly drive prices down, and we will make America affordable again,"

This is a good sentiment, but what does it mean ? And which prices is he referring to ? Gas prices, food, and housing rents have all doubled during the Biden administration. The housing rents are especially troubling, since they constitute the largest loss to renters and small businesses.

Trump needs to clarify his position, and tell us what he specifically intends to do.

What do we have to lose? We've already seen what Trump is capable of and what Biden/Harris has done to the country. Everything will most likely continue to rise in price if Harris gets elected.

It’s very simple. He’ll immediately reverse every Biden energy move and open up the oil and gas spigots. That alone will have a major immediate impact on consumer price reduction. Pretty simple, effective and winning strategy.

He doesn't have a plan, just a talking point.

He's always been a little foggy on substance and that only gotten worse recently.

4 years of Biden-Harris is going to make fixing our government extremely hard to do, from our border to our economy to world unrest. It'll take all of Trumpy's powers to fix the mess he will inherit, but he'll get er' done. MAGA.

Trump will do what? "Drill baby drill"?

Former President Donald Trump says he has the key to cutting inflation: Drill, baby, drill.

Trump wants the U.S. to be energy dominant. It already is.

4 days ago — ODESSA — Former President Donald Trump has vowed to “drill, baby, drill” on Day One of his next administration. He wants, as his website says...

Earlier this year, the Texas Oil & Gas Association, the state’s leading industry group, reported that Texas supplied 42% of the nation’s oil in 2023. Texas broke records last year when operators drilled nearly 2 billion barrels of oil and 12 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

And it was a banner year for oil and gas across the U.S., which produced 12.9 million barrels of oil per day. The previous record was 12.3 million barrels of oil per day in 2019. Already, the federal Energy Information Administration is projecting companies will produce on average 13.2 million barrels per day this year and 13.7 million barrels per day in 2025.

This is one of my complaints about Trump's rallies that it is too much rah-rah that I've heard before but not enough /substance/, but the problem is:
  1. I've heard economists give explanations on sit-down interviews with all kinds of figures and high-sounding words that all sound impressive like he knows just what he is talking about that turns out to be BS anyway and nothing good happens.
  2. Like Trump's no tip tax plan, any details and ideas he puts out there, especially too early, are subject to theft by the democrats.
So it comes down to the Leader Principle, that Trump will get it done by simply getting it done by whatever means he finds necessary to get there when he does it, much like if he were in office, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine. How? Because Trump would have talked to Putin and reached an "understanding."

What they call in the vernacular as: "Git Er Done."

Trump will apply his life experience in running a business and lowering cost towards affecting the things which have driven prices up, such as the devaluation of the dollar. Thing is, even if a politician tells you EXACTLY how they are going to do something, that doesn't mean they will even do it, or do it that way, so it all comes down to WHO DO YOU TRUST.

Do you trust this woman?

Well, they've had 3.5 years to bring prices down, and they're still rising. Doesnt inspire much confidence. :doubt:

I would trust Trump 1000 times over, rather than trust Harris.

He doesn't have a plan, just a talking point.

He's always been a little foggy on substance and that only gotten worse recently.
He has time to make things more clear, but Harris had 3.5 years with Biden, and prices went to the moon (and they're still rising)

More people retiring earlier would help. There was never supply chain issues .

You don't pay attention. Trump has said at various times that US energy production is a key factor in reducing inflationary pressures.

Well, we already know what Democrats want to do. They are responsible for the highest levels of inflation since another Democrat, Jimmy Carter.

I just caught Trump on TV live earlier today inside some big factory (Pennsylvania?) giving a long speech and at times went into considerable detail on how he would cut inflation and various other things, their causes, etc., and I thought of you.

The US has produced over 13thousand barrells of oil per day for the past consecutive ten months. We didn't do that pre-pandemic
