Trump's core issue that led him to victory in the Primaries was Trade, and the claim that we had bad trade deals and needed better ones.
This issue has been viciously attacked from both sides of the political divide.
Common themes involve claims that any trade barriers are bad, that there is not trade barriers against US, that US workers are stupid, lazy and/or unskilled, ect. ect.
This is from a recent WTO ruling.
WTO says EU failed to comply with Airbus subsidy ruling
"U.S. officials said Airbus had failed to undo subsidies worth $22 billion, including $4 billion for the A350, on which Airbus's prospects in the wide-body jet market largely depend."
I have been constantly told that Germany has a trade surplus because their workers are better than ours, or because they have Nationalized Health Care.
Trump Right on Trade Predators
"When Europe’s taxpayers objected to the $26 billion in subsidies Airbus had gotten by 1990, German aerospace coordinator Erich Riedl was dismissive, “We don’t care about criticism from small-minded pencil-pushers.” "
"Richard Evans of British Aerospace explained: “Airbus is going to attack the Americans, including Boeing, until they bleed and scream.” And another executive said, “If Airbus has to give away planes, we will do it.”
So much for the idea that our losing is based on Fair Competition, and our own failures.

Subsidies to the A320 caused lost sales of 271 Boeing 737s, writes journalist Alan Boyle. Subsidies for planes in the twin-aisle market cost the sale of 50 Boeing 767s, 777s and 787s. And subsidies to the A380 cost Boeing the sale of 54 747s. These represent crippling losses for Boeing, a crown jewel of U.S. manufacturing and a critical component of our national defense.
Earlier, writes Boyle, the WTO ruled that, “without the subsidies, Airbus would not have existed … and there would be no Airbus aircraft on the market.”
In “The Great Betrayal” in 1998, I noted that in its first 25 years the socialist cartel called Airbus Industrie “sold 770 planes to 102 airlines but did not make a penny of profit.”
These are significant numbers in their own rights, but more important is that they reveal a policy of unfair trade from our closest ALLIES, one that has been going on for decades.
If our Friends are fucking US like this, does anyone seriously think our rivals or enemies, like say the fucking Red Chinese are giving US a break?
And these tens of billions lost, are not just numbers in the ledgers of corporations.
THEy are lost jobs of middle class, working class Americans.
This economic hardship is real and immense.
Life Expectancy for White Americans Declines
"There have been signs for years that health and socioeconomic problems might be chipping away at improvements in longevity for parts of the U.S. population. In 2008, the IHME reported that life expectancy had stagnated or declined for about 4% of men and 19% of women in the U.S. in the 1980s and 1990s. The report cited diseases related to smoking, high blood pressure and obesity as contributors and noted wide disparities in life expectancy between poor and wealthy U.S. counties."
Bolding added.
The Dems, with the aid of their ideological minions in the media have been working very hard to avoid discussion of the issues.
And it is working.
They are winning.
And they don't care that Americans are literally being killed by policies they are actively fighting to keep.
Discuss.
