In a Republic, actually
“Trump urged Republicans to seize control of elections and place voting under national authority Monday — one of his most explicit signals yet that he plans to interfere with the workings of democracy.

In a radio interview on The Dan Bongino Show, Trump framed voting itself as corrupt, claimed elections were stolen from him and argued that Republicans should take over how ballots are cast and counted.”

Republicans, of course, don’t need to be urged to seize control of elections, they have the same contempt for the right to vote and the democratic process as Trump.

And like Trump Republicans believe the election process is corrupt, they believe the disinformation and lies, such as the lie that noncitizens are voting.

Clearly this is about the upcoming midterms, and the likelihood Republicans will lose control of the House.

Just provide minimum national standards: I.D requirements, no computer voting, protections from fraud, increase penalties for fraud to a strong sentence and a federal crime etc.

With the dems nothing is organic, it's all astroturf.

I hear in WA the dems just ignored 400K certified signatures for a ballot initiative.

To add insult to injury they are changing the law regarding them.

That statement alone should be enough to impeach a president.

Of course Trump and the MAGA minions want to nationalize the elections because 1) it will give MAGAs greater power to manipulate elections and 2) it would make it much easier for Trump and his police state goons to cancel elections.

We already know MAGAs hate any form of democracy. They will gladly give up their vote for authoritarian rule. It is in their DNA.

I would think at some point Trump’s followers would tire of the counter productive trolling. But, alas, no. They are lined up on here either defending the comment or sanitizing it. Putrid MAGAts can’t even denounce straight up anti-democracy comments.

“The Republicans should say, 'We want to take over. We should take over the voting in at least — many, 15 places. The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting," Trump said during an appearance on former deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino’s podcast.

The statement marks a dramatic escalation of Trump's stance on election administration, advancing a position that Democrats had previously warned he could stake out with his calls for stricter voting rules and investigations into alleged fraud.

We all have learned that if trump is making accusations of wrong doing, it is because he is either doing exactly that or planning on doing the deed. He is so worried about the mid-terms that he willing to violate state's right and the Constitution to get his way. We all saw this coming. He is pulling out all stops to gain an advantage in the mid-terms. This would include, of course, violating the Constitution of the United States.

Does the Constitution allow nationalize elections?

The U.S. Constitution does not allow for the nationalization of elections. The Elections Clause, found in Article I, Section 4, Clause 1, empowers both Congress and state legislatures to regulate the "times, places, and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives." This means that the Constitution grants states the authority to determine how elections are conducted, including the registration process, election supervision, prevention of fraud, counting of ballots, and more. While Congress has the power to set election rules, it does not have the authority to dictate the election process at the national level.

He should cancel the next election and continue to repair the damage done by anti-American Democrats.

He won't, but he should.

Can't happen.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment.

So, having slapped you back to reality, when will you learn not to follow the head bob?

Sheesh, it's just too easy with you people.
It is rather funny to watch Trump say things which immediately get the left running around like chickens with their heads cut off, all screaming, "The sky is falling. The sky is falling". You'd think after Trump doing it to them thousands of times they would eventually catch on but they never do.

He shouldn't.

But that would be great. lol

Best theater on the planet.

Don't say can't. Say shouldn't.
This administration shows little care for the Constitution, in it's quest for top-down Federal Control. Big Government is the rule of the day and their only possible future, if they can pull it off. Now, they are even anti-2A. No change in sight, as Trump says not pulling back. The only certain viable stop is the Ballot Box, and now they want to control that, too. It looks like elected Republicans, with their mindless support, have to go, as not supporting the Constitution and Country over their cult leader.
See you at the Mid-Terms

tRump has repeatedly ignored the Constitution with the help of the so called supreme court.
