Where will you be tonight at 8pm est?

I think it is wise for Trump not to show up for the game as it is a political gamble he doesn't need. Canada could win and with players like Crosby who always rise to the occasion so Trump wouldn't want to be there if they lost.

That said, he had a call with the players. He just had the Stanley Cup meeting with Matthew Tkachuk a couple of weeks ago at the W.H and now Matthew is a big name.

I won't predict the score but it is going to be a hell of a battle that I can guarantee.

Please President Trump save some of us. Many of us have been treated like East German citizens in this country for far too long.

U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his annexationist rhetoric toward Canada ahead of the 4 Nations Face-Off final between Canada and the U.S. Thursday night.
“I’ll be calling our GREAT American Hockey Team this morning to spur them on towards victory tonight against Canada,” Trump said in a Thursday post to Truth Social.

“With FAR LOWER TAXES AND MUCH STRONGER SECURITY, (Canada) will someday, maybe soon, become our cherished, and very important, Fifty First State.”

Begrudgingly kudos to team Canada, those maple syrup eating… :-) Team USA did well as well, very proud of them!

Painfully the eagle did not fly last night to victory. I plan to spend extra effort in the fall while bird hunting to focus on Canadian geese. Drop as many as I can :-) it will be my therapy from this horrible event.

The truth is, and Canadians who watch hockey and understand it to the same degree many Americans understand football (although Boston fans are almost certainly the most knowledgeable hockey fans in the U.S); Canada was greatly outplayed in OT. My man from my Maple Leafs, Americans own Auston Matthews was robbed multiple times in OT. He had 69 goals last year!

Also, to consider:

  • America lost one of their toughest D Men in McAvoy so he didnt play this game
  • Canada got away with a "too men men on the ice" penalty which should have been called and would have been in a normal NHL game that didn't matter
  • Matthew Tkachuk was injured in the game and only played 6+ minutes or so by OT. He was no longer on their top line with his brother and Matthews.
  • America was "goalied" in OT, Binnington, Canadas goalie is the only reason Canada survived to score.

All that said, winners get it done and Canada prevailed. McDavid is the best player in the world. I'd still want an aging Crosby in that moment but Connor would be my second choice.

Olympics are here in a year in Italy, THAT is the real gold medal. This tournament didn't have Russia or Belarus and there is always an upset along the way be it Switzerland or Germany in such bigger round robin tourneys.

I hope Canada can duplicate it in a year, the U.S team was in fact the favourite for this tourney before it started and the fights that occurred in the last game coupled with the political tension REALLY helped sell the NHL. These two teams were the best by far and it they wanted the most.

Canada, lead by our insane, unexpected goaltending; wanted it just a little bit more.

I still love my American brothers and sisters,

He has no idea what he is doing. IF Canada wanted to join the US they would become at least 13 states. 3 of Canada's provinces and 2 of it's territories are all larger than the state of Texas. There are 10. Provinces and 3 territories in Canada . It is huge. And they want less and less to do with US because of trump. Canada , itself , is larger than the US is. We have a trade deficit with them too. In Trump's own words." He does not have the cards. "
