Go look up the supremacy clause in the constitution. In matters regarding federal elections, federal law trumps state law.

The CO Supreme Court stepped out of its bounds by essentially saying Trump was guilty of inciting an insurrection without any trial courts (which they are not) determining that fact.

It is the Constitution (federal) that controls this. That is what the Colorado court relied on for its decision.
