Immigrants generally all of them should get no benefits at all nothing.... It was never like that coming through Ellis Island and it shouldn't be like that now . You come here to work legally, you don't get welfare , food stamps, paid housing ,cars, supplemental income none of that... My great grandparents came over here in 1901 they didn't get any benefits...my great father died in a boiler accident, my great grandmother had to raise her five kids by herself with no benefits ...she probably got help from the Jewish community here that's it ....No government benefits.... BTW , you shouldn't lump Somalis all in the same group either. Those that were involved in the welfare scandal were less than 7% of the total Somali population. Unemployment barriers still exist for them and their unemployment rate is higher than normal but it's headed upward not downward. That's another plus. Minnesota is lucky to have them. They have revitalized south Minneapolis. 8 billion economic impact yearly and growing.
