That is just dumb, it really is. There have been four impeachments in American History. Johnson, Clinton, and Trump, TWICE. Nixon was also subject to impeachment proceedings but resigned before the House vote. Reagan, Bush, Jefferson, Biden, Obama, Buchanan, the list goes on of those that in which impeachment votes either failed or did not come to a vote.
The whole lynching claim falls flat on it's face when you confront it with this reality. In almost 250 ******* years, never, ever, had a senator of the presidents own party, voted to convict. It happened BOTH times under Trump.
No it's not dumb!
We now live in a time of deep division where even lawmakers are openly showing their hate for colleagues on the other side of the aisle.
You point out the four impeachments, and what do three of those have in common? This country had only one impeachment in 227 years. We've now had three starting in 1998.
This country is now so divided, it rivals the Civil war era, and you can count on more in the future. If by some miracle, Vance wins the 2028 election, I guarantee you Dimocrats will try to impeach him if they control the House at that time. They'll leave him alone for the first year, and then will try to throw him out, and they'll come up with a reason for it no matter what he does.
