Trump negotiates release of American hostage held in Egypt, where she's been for 3 years

Obama wasn't interested, apparently.

This woman and her husband ran a charity for Egyptian street children, and were accused of child trafficking by the criminals in charge to shut it down.

Obama, despite his status as the 'most beloved president ever abroad" and "the greatest statesman ever!" was unable to get the fake charges dropped, let alone bring them home.

"The Obama administration unsuccessfully pressed Sissi’s government for their release. It was not until Trump moved to reset U.S. relations with Egypt by embracing Sissi at the White House on April 3 — he publicly hailed the autocrat’s leadership as “fantastic” and offered the U.S. government’s “strong backing” — that Egypt’s posture changed. Last Sunday, a court in Cairo dropped all charges against Hijazi and the others."

"The dropping of charges set in motion the release of Hijazi and Hassanein from custody and their journey to the United States, which was personally overseen by Trump and detailed Thursday by the senior administration official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the national security sensitivities of the case."

Oh, but Obama admin officials are on hand to rain on the parade with their eternal snarling and snarking, which we have come to expect whenever America does something right. Here it comes, the assertion that no matter how wonderful it looks, there must be a poison center, since that's how they operate:

"Former Obama administration officials, who were at times criticized for not making a more public case out of Hijazi’s imprisonment, expressed skepticism that Sissi got nothing from Trump in exchange for Hijazi’s freedom."

It's the old "yeah nobody does something for nothing" attitude that we have come to love most about them.

Obama hated Sissi because he shut down all the special interest groups that were funding the terrorists in his country. Imagine that. Kind of a running theme for our ex terrorist in chief.
