Trump in Butler, PA: “So, as I was saying.”

Jesus. He can't even come out with an original joke.

Another joke thief.

I mean. it's not like he wrote it himself, but still...

Trump returned to Butler and opened with a joke. Not many people would take a bullet for their nation and joke about it at the
scene of his near assassination. I've read that a vet gave Trump his Purple Heart in service to the nation.

He didn't "take a bullet"... he got a scratch.... he certainly didn't take it for the nation and the Purple Heart thing shows just how stupid some people can be.

Trump is living proof that the nation can take a joke.

We haven't had much of a choice until this November.

Really? Do you two, Unkotare & Foxfyre , really not know the story behind the, "As I was saying..." line?

I can only think this is the case, otherwise why disagree with my post?

You gotta love Trump's sense of humor. That's one of the reasons he's so popular.

Wow. A literal sea of humanity. You have to really respect how Musk showed up there as well taking a potential risk to himself standing up there in support of Trump! Trump was not about to let the events of July 13 back him down and went right back there with balls in hand a big, fat fuck-you finger to whomever was behind the near assassination by Crook.

It wouldn't surprise me if he went and paid Ryan Routh a visit in prison to stand right across from him and stare him in the eye and laugh, telling him "Screw You."

It is a line used by many when appropriate to use. Nobody owns the phrase. Nobody coined the phrase that we know of. To see it as some sort of plagiarism to use it as Trump did at the rally--"We love Pennsylvania and as I was saying. . ."--really indicates TDS of a very high level. I have used that line myself more than once in public presentations.

And in that particular setting given the recent history, it was really brilliant.

Most people wouldn't try to sell merchandise off their assassination, either, but Trump is a natural born grifter and always has been.
Chaps your ass doesn't it? Love it.

The idea of plagiarism never entered my my.

I am well aware the it is a phrase that has been used by many people over the years, but one person is famous for having used it.

My point was that there was nothing spectacularly special about his use of the phrase, and it was certainly not brilliant.

But, I suppose Sassy is correct. It's trivial.

I will concede.
