‘The Trump administration suffered a legal blow on Friday when a New York district court judge issued a preliminary injunction blocking its move to cut National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grants from Authors Guild members on First Amendment grounds. Judge Colleen McMahon issued the injunction which is expected to remain in place until the case is heard in full. Newsweek contacted the NEH and President Trump, via the White House press office, for comment on Saturday outside of regular office hours.

[…]

Judge McMahon's preliminary injunction prevents funds previously awarded to Authors Guild members, and subsequently removed by the Trump administration, from being reallocated until a trial is held on the merits of the case itself. The money was allocated by the NEH, a federal agency that funds research and education across the humanities, before some was stripped back by the Trump administration.

McMahon ruled much of this was politically motivated, with Termination Notices handed to intended recipients making reference to Trump Executive Orders targeting "DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] programs" and "Radical Indoctrination."’

Of course it’s politically motivated, devoid of merit and fact.

No, the SCOTUS did not say Federal District Court Judges couldn't "weigh in" on cases before them. They rolled back "national injunctions" but left in tact:
  • The ability of the District Courts to issue relief for the claimants with targeted orders specific to the claimants,
  • The ability of the District Courts to issue relief for the claimants on a national level (i.e. nationwide injunction) if the claimants meet the requirements under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 23 as a Class Action Lawsuit. (For example numerous claimants, common question of law or fact, claimants are representative of a class, common claim for the class in terms of protection sought.)
  • Nor did they address what the status was if multiple states are bringing a cause for action against the Federal Government.
As a matter of fact, you can check the opinions and the accompanying additional comments by the SCOTUS Justices and TWO Justices specifically pointed out that in nationwide injunction cases Class Actions were the proper path. That would be Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Sotomayor (one from each side of the aisle if you will.)

Within hours after the ruling (on procedure not merit) pertaining to Trump's EO, claimants had refiled the suit seeking Class Action (as the SCOTUS instructed) with claimants from across the country who were impacted (or their children would be impacted) by Trump attempting to change the Constitution via EO.

With that said, it appears I guess the Judge knows more about what the SCOTUS said than an internet poster because the judge DID NOT issue a nationwide injunction without Class Action Status. The judges order only applies to the claimants who were representing of the Authors Guild pending further court proceedings. This action only applies to Authors Guild members, so it's a target hold just on them.

Trump ultimately wins in the SC which makes him even more powerful. These activist left wing judges are part of the democrats power structure that allows them to ignore elections and still have some power. Thats not democracy

You’re quoting Donald Trump.
