"Trump formally appeals his New York hush money conviction

The appeal calls it the "most politically charged prosecution" in U.S. history.

New York's intermediate appellate court should overturn President Donald Trump's criminal hush money convictions because his trial was "fatally marred" by faulty evidence and overseen by a judge who should have recused himself, his attorneys argued in a court filing late Monday.

Trump's formal appeal, 17 months after a Manhattan jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts, asks the Appellate Division's First Department to reverse what his lawyers call the "most politically charged prosecution in our Nation's history."

Trump was found guilty in May 2024 after a six-week trial over what prosecutors called a scheme to conceal a $130,000 payment his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to keep her from talking about a long-denied affair ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Trump reimbursed Cohen in monthly installments that prosecutors said amounted to falsified records."

No way this conviction survives the appeals process. The funny thing was the more the Dems used lawfare against Trump, the more popular he became.

Maybe he should not have paid the hush money to the women he was cheating on his wife with. If he wasn't a low moral piece of shit, he would not have run afoul of the Laws of New York.

He really is a dope. It did not even keep them quiet, so everybody found out what a scumbag he was, anyway.

Lucky, the Democrats are even bigger losers.

Hell with him. He can't even get his donors to pay for his appeal bond. They know he fucked the *****. They know he paid her off. I guess paying his other legal bills is about enough.

It's still a Democrat lawfare witch hunt that will not stand. Trump won in part because of Democrat lawfare-
Trump's arrest, the FBI raid on Trump's home, the bullshit NY hush money case, and the insane sex freak's NY civil lawsuit.
It didn't work.

You seriously don't belive that Trump fucked Stormy and entered false records to conceal paying her off to keep quiet during election?

Seriously?

Or, and try to follow along here, maybe he thought paying for an NDA would shut her up even though she was simply lying.

Plus, the entry in his own books wasn’t a lie. How stupid a legal theory will a TDS moron DA offer? This one is evidence that a ridiculous legal theory of the case is not quite stupid enough for hm.

(Edited because I was confusing the AG’s civil case with the DA’s criminal case. My bad.).

I don't believe that it was a crime, if that is what you are asking.

the FBI raid on Trump's home

The warrant-in-hand FBI raid that found illegally retained classified documents with a side of Obstruciton of Justice?

You think thats what helped Trump?

So it's ok that he was entering false bussiness records to conceal campaign contributions, Democrats are at fault here...right? It's not a like it's a crime provable in a court of law in NY or anything.

Has it ever occured to you that Trump may have some culpability by doing all these shitty, immoral, self-absorbed things that land him in all the legal problems?
