I don't mind being a part of NATO but the whole organization is about defending Europe, not the US. They should be putting up most of the dollars, troops, and equipment for their own defense.

Bloomberg) -- NATO allies have started cobbling together an agreement to significantly boost defense spending in a way that may assuage US President Donald Trump’s demand to spend 5% of economic output on the military.

Negotiators in the military alliance are making progress on a path to achieve 5% of GDP on defense and defense-related spending by 2032 ahead of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit in The Hague in June, according to diplomats familiar with the matter. NATO foreign ministers will discuss the initiative at a meeting in the Turkish resort city of Antalya Wednesday and Thursday.

The US played a minor role in both world wars.
It was the British who sank the German ships and starved them into surrender in WWI.
And it was the Russians who destroyed thousands of German tanks and killed a million German soldiers to win WWII.

But NATO are the old colonial imperialists who are constantly invading or taking over countries.
They are the least "defensive" in the whole world.
The only difference is Spain used to be the biggest colonial imperialist until we defeated them in the illegal Spanish American war and took all their illegal colonies for ourselves.

Nuclear threats were useless and ultimate the US did not have the will to finish the job.
