WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration directed immigration officers to pause arrests at farms, restaurants and hotels, after President Donald Trump expressed alarm about the impact of aggressive enforcement, an official said Saturday.

The move follows weeks of increased enforcement since Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff and main architect of Trump’s immigration policies, said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers would target at least 3,000 arrests a day, up from about 650 a day during the first five months of Trump’s second term.

Tatum King, an official with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations unit, wrote regional leaders on Thursday to halt investigations of the agricultural industry, including meatpackers, restaurants and hotels, according to The New York Times.

He chickens out AGAIN!!!! His help at his low class hotels were being deported. Maybe he can get Baby Don or Eric to work at on them as maid service.

Why do we "need" ILLEGAL Immigrants working these jobs when we have a system for vetted(investigated) and permitted foreign, non-nationals to be here on temporary status as workers ????

The USA has had such a system for decades and if it isn't "working" now, then it should be a priority to fix~update.

There is no reason or justification* for criminal lawbreakers to be in our country and taking our wealth out to their homelands with no checks or accountability in place.

* Unless certain agents, foreign and domestic, are active in seeking to undermine and destroy the USA from within. In which case we are dealing with enemies foreign and domestic conducting war against the USA and need to be dealt with accordingly !!!

The reason it "isn't working," is that Democrats, "not Democrats" and RINO'S allow line jumpers to take those jobs.

Keep those illegals out and watch employers turn to legal guest workers. In fact, they might even start hiring Americans and paying them a living wage!

I don't know why democrats oppose that.

I have met very few white women who beg on street corners who want to be a hotel housekeeper.

Of course not, American white women are too entitled for that. They’ve got degrees in women’s studies.

Where is the law/job description that says "hotel housekeeper" must be female, non-white, and 'begging on the street corner' ???
