President Donald Trump endorsed a “planned partnership” Friday between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel, claiming the deal between the two steel giants will constitute the largest economic investment in Pennsylvania’s history.

The president’s decision to greenlight a partnership between the Japanese steel company and its American rival producer caps off a years-long fight over the fate of the iconic Pennsylvania company, U.S. Steel. Trump announced the steel company will remain headquartered in Pittsburgh and that the Japanese steel company’s investments will add at least 70,000 jobs to the economy.

I hope it works. And if it does, we have Bethlehem Steel' complex just sitting over here, waiting to be renovated and fired up again. Let's get America working and producing again.

Good Stuff.

I like it when good things happen for the USA.

These offers come by periodically but they've been used in the past by foreign companies to close down a US company that competes with it. Sounds great in the short term but not so much in the long term.

Get your local officials to turn it into a molded plastics company. Somebody needs to fill the void for over-priced celebrity chef wares that will be left by the china tariffs.

Biden blocked the acquisition over national security concerns.
This means that Nippon's check to Trump must have cleared.
.
This is a little different but I just read a article post on X about how uch farm land China has in he US Main Land. I could care less...we should sell them all the want. (at inflated prices of course)

Using a federal dataset of more than 40,000 foreign investments in U.S. agricultural land as of 2020, Wendong Zhang, assistant professor and extension economist at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and collaborators show that countries classified by the federal government as “adversary,” such as China, held only 1% of the roughly 40 million acres of foreign-owned farmland. The top foreign country in terms of ownership of U.S. agricultural land? Canada, which owned about a third, much of it Maine and Michigan forestland.

The last time Trump tried this the USA LOST 200,000 production jobs.

Trump's business record is abysmal at every level. 6 bankruptcies didn't happen by accident. The guy is incompetent, and incapable of managing anything.

How much Nippon Steel stock did the Trump Organization buy? IMO, when Trump talks “deals”, he’s gets confused and thinks the US is a subsidiary of DJT.
