To be fair, the headline is misleading, once you read the text, it says: Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter, in which he describes a 2006 phone call where President Donald Trump said of Jeffrey Epstein, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him, everyone has known he’s been doing this

So that doesn't mean that Trump actually made the call, it could be the Chief reached out to him, and Trump made him aware there have been complaints for years.
