The administration withdrew its challenge to a ruling halting its effort to strip funding from schools and colleges with D.E.I. programs. It did not say why.

The Trump administration has abandoned one of its major efforts to restrict diversity and equity programs in schools and colleges.

The effort was a threat by the administration to withhold billions of dollars in education funding from states and schools that refused to sign a document attesting that they did not have diversity and equity programs. Education groups sued in federal court and won a favorable ruling in August, which the government then appealed.

But on Wednesday, the administration withdrew its appeal. The federal judge in Maryland who heard the case, Stephanie Gallagher, ruled against the Trump administration on multiple grounds. She found that the administration had not followed proper procedure in attempting to withhold the funding, and that the underlying policy threatened educators’ free speech in the classroom.

Higher Education does NOT come in just one skin color. Scientists do NOT come in just one skin color. Science is studying and learning. Which does NOT come in just one skin color.

Perhaps they decided that there's more than one way to eliminate illegal racial discrimination by the schools. Just arrest the administrators who commit civil rights violations.

Racial discrimination by the schools????? Does that mean that non-white kids will to be held back and white kids will get all the awards????? We don't want white kids to be beaten at ANYTHING by black, brown or Asian kids. They'll feel bad about themselves if they're beaten by a racial inferior.

As for arresting officials who commit "civil right violations", you could start with the President and work your way down. Trump has the fewest non-white and non-male staffers in US history, not to mention the least educated and the least experienced. Getting rid of the Trump regime would go a long way to eliminating racial discrimination in the federal government.

The best way of eliminating racial discrimination in college admissions is to eliminate "legacy admissions". 1/3 of all elite college admissions are reserved for the children of alumni. Legacies are overwhelmingly white.

Another way to eliminate discrimination in public schools is to stop using property tax revenue from school districts to fund education in the district. All school funding should be equal throughout the state, and paid out of state revenues, not local revenues.

The USA is one of only two "first world nations" to provide more money to educate rich kids than poor kids. Turkey is the other country that does this. Denmark actually spends MORE money on educating poor kids than rich kids.
