I look forward to the fall of the regime and am happy to hear of the end of the tyrannical Islamists recently, I now wonder what happens when the Islamic regime falls? Secular dictatorship is not what I want I want to see transition to democracy but how long will that take? And will it be peaceful transition?

There might be a transition, but it won't be one with which you (or anyone else) will be happy.

The French had a revolution and it created decade of state sponsored terror, Napoleon, and decades of all out war in Europe.

The brutal Czar was overthrown and it led to 75 years of Communist oppression

Wiemar Germany collapsed and created Hitler

China overthrew there Imperial oppressors and it led to the largest single slaughter of human life in history

They Khmer Rouge liberated The Cambodian people and introduced "The Killing Fields

Iran replaced a Western-friendly dictator and replaced him with a worse, Islamic dictator in 1979.

The Soviet Union collapsed and the Oligarchs took power and collapsed their economy.


There are many historical examples of people rising up to throw off their shackles only to have them replaced by a heavier set of shackles.


Given the history of the region ... I don't expect a utopian society will replace the ayatollahs anytime soon.

What will happen is dissolution of order. Not immediately, the government will hold it together for a while, long enough to inflict plenty damage on the surrounding states including Israel

Every wannabe will be trying to carve out his own little kingdom.

None of them are likely to be secular or Democratic.

They won't fall. The Venezuela regime is still there. Trump will bomb for seven more days then declare victory and go home.
