Kelly Brooks was 18 years old and a skilled hiker in Yellowstone National Park. She drove her car to a parking lot and departed on her hike. She vanished that very day. This is a true story and when you watch the video, surely anger will well up in you. I got angry. The rangers hunted for her for days. Finally, they told the parents she more than likely was dead. She was not dead. She was living a nightmare. Warn your kids about his to keep them safe.

Sorry dude, but you may have been duped on this.

Doing a search.....the only things I can find is a Kelly Brook, a British actress and model.

And the only things that come up with her as a missing Yellowstone hiker is from Facebook, YouTube and TikTok, not exactly reliable sources.

Well, she wasn't that skilled. A skilled hiker never would venture into such a wild and rugged area both alone and unarmed.

The lens cap they found was likely lost or discarded higher up and had fallen down to where they found it lodged between rocks.

And when Kelly was abducted, she lacked any cogent plan nor means of leaving behind any clues to follow.

Indeed, the ordeal never would have happened had Kelly been older and an actual skilled and experienced hiker.

You made excellent points. She was called skilled by her parents. Warning to campers, do not enter wilderness alone. Ensure you can communicate since we have modern systems now. I have been to Cody, WY where she was located. Who else has been to that small city?

I found multiple sites and decided it is true.

Kelly Brooks vanished in Yellowstone National Park in August 2014 while hiking the Specimen Ridge Trail. After seven years, she was found alive in Cody, Wyoming, revealing a disturbing captivity story that had been hidden for years. Her case highlights the challenges of missing persons and the lengths to which individuals may go to conceal their actions.

I'm a skilled hiker/climber and at 18, there are only beginners. You just don't wander off into Yellowstone, in grizzly country, all alone, unarmed, and without a good set up supplies, radios, flares, and much more. Probably should have been in a team of 3. As you travel along, you leave signs not only for yourself to follow to find your way out, but so others can follow where you went. Technically, she broke every rule in the Hiker's book. In a way, she is lucky to have lived, the Wayne's likely saved her from being mauled and eaten by a bear or pack of wolves.

She was ripe for the taking.

Her parents then are idiots who should stick to things they know about.

My guess is that this couple who captured the girl, my guess is that she was not the first and probably would not have been their last had they not been caught. I would check the area for missing people and unmarked graves.

A poster says the story is fake. Checked it out and that claim seems to be true.

I searched too, and couldn't find any news-related info. Just Youtube, Tik-Tok, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

When I queried AI, this was what I got:

"The story of a hiker named "Kelly Brooks" disappearing in Yellowstone National Park and reappearing years later is a viral internet hoax. There is no official record of a real person by that name in a case matching the widespread social media narrative.

The story, often shared on platforms like Facebook by pages using clickbait tactics, typically involves an 18-year-old vanishing in 2014 and reappearing in Cody, Wyoming, seven years later with a shocking story. Fact checks and internet searches for official police reports or credible news articles yield no evidence to support this specific event.

The narrative is a work of fiction designed to generate engagement, often blending elements from other real, unrelated missing person cases or actual tragedies in and around the park, such as the unsolved 1982 disappearance of Kelly Dove from a Virginia gas station, or the death of Colin Scott who fell into a thermal feature."

I got hooked by a scammer. There are 3 or maybe others pulling that same scam. Mark it as a fiction tale and not true.
