Yesterday, I saw one of the resident progbots on here calling for the US to nationalize our fuel production. I think he was even a foreigner too.
I wrote it off as typical non-sense from just another collectivist lefty without a clue about what he was saying.
Now, it appears this isn't just the ignorant fringe but it's actually being put forth to see if they can garner support for another honeypot that might lure the ignorant with empty promises but is in reality a trap for us all.
This is like a focus group testing of yet another really dumb idea in the hopes they can gaslight enough low-info sheeple into agreeing & enabling a totally illegal power grab towards total control of We the People.

This is an incredibly buffoonish idea that would lead to an engineered catastrophe as our govt locked our fuel production down completely, crashing our economy & driving worldwide economic implosion.
Our meat puppet resident's handlers would love to be able to lock us out of our own fuel supplies because they consider us mostly useless eaters anyway.
What better way to impoverish the nation's greatest economy than cutting off the energy?
They would claim it's for the environment or the kids to bludgeon us into acceptance of a suicidal lockdown of our economic engines.

Is the USMB poster who was advocating this very thing a paid shill, a fake bot or just incredibly ignorant/naive/stupid?

In response, influential Democrats, including a leading U.S. Senate candidate, a former Department of Energy official, and an influential energy expert, are urging the U.S. government to socialize America’s oil and gas firms.

At a Houston conference last week, Jason Bordoff, Dean of Columbia University’s Climate School, called for the “nationalization” of oil and gas companies. “Government must take an active role in owning assets that will become stranded,” he said, “and plan to strand those assets.” By “strand” Bordoff meant “make financially worthless.” Bordoff made the point at least twice during the confrerence. Bordoff’s call shocked many in the audience. “Jason is smart, well-informed, and well-connected to the Biden Administration,” said someone who was at the conference, “so these comments are scary.”

Look no further than Venezuela- they nationalized their fuel industry back in 1976.
Outside of a few times they allowed outside, private company partners to come in & fix things, this country with some of the largest known reserves in the world is only producing a fraction of what they did pre-socialization.
1970- 3.8 mill barrel/day
2018- 1.5 mill barrels/day
Their economy is a wreck, their money is worth more as paper mache', people are starving & running for any other nation that will take them in.

Does anyone really believe putting the govt that is all in on "climate change" & has stated they want to end fossil fuels in full charge of our domestic production is a grand idea?

No, we won't end fossil fuel use in this country. Our military is too dependent on it. As for State owned, if it kept prices low and even across the country, why not?

Yes.

Full disclosure here... I own shares of XLE which is an energy select sector SPDR ETF. Holds all the major oil companies. Look it up.

Oil companies are keeping gas artificially inflated because they have to make up for the loss they suffered at the start of the pandemic.

U.S. Oil Prices Fall Below Zero For The First Time In History

There is no shortage of oil. There is no shortage of wells they can tap/drill but why would they given the record profits they're making now.

There is one essential industry, the oil industry, that effects all industry and essential in an industrial/agri economy.

Keeping gas prices artificially inflated to make up for their loss raises transportation and food costs for all. So not only are you being gouged at the pumps but you're having to pay for higher food costs because of it and these oil companies are the one denominator at fault.

The Feds having raised interest rates should've by now shown some results with lower inflation. Ask yourself why that hasn't happened.

Nobody is calling for the socialization of American industry/agri etc. But we cannot, must not, allow this one essential industry that effects the costs of all and keeps inflation artificially high that is screwing everybody but these oil companies.

So yes... go ahead and impose price restrictions on these oil companies with a provision to sunset it in a year... just to get out under this inflation.

If you want to call me a socialist... fine.

But better a socialist than being the bottom bitch of these oil companies... which you're paying... to be screwed.

So..... yes. Impose price restrictions on these oil companies.

I see the lefty lapdogs are on here lending their support to more collectivist idiocy.
They can count on all of you to just stay in line & do as told, no matter how stupid it is.

Ignore that cliff you lemmings.

I do not believe any president has the authority to do that, short of a real national emergency. The political backlash would be enormous IMHO; nationalize healthcare, then energy, then everything else. Including elections, and when that happens we are well and truly fucked.

You dumbshitz already think Biden is in control of oil production by blaming him for what private industry does.

Who gets to determine what a real national emergency is?

It’s best to keep the vital industries like oil and pharmaceuticals in the hands of profiteers and money grubbers.

Yes, the soviet and Venezuelan models of government owned industries had/has a great track record.

If you want to get rid of an innovation in a given industry of field, remove the profit motive. It always works.

Is that why the high profits have kept the increase in production low?

I know Biden constricts energy supplies through his actions & words.
He is absolutely responsible for the jump in prices.
The charts show the jump & his actions/words have the consequences he promised they would have.

In a friendly environment, the free market would do what it does & encourage more investment via the profit motive.
This would create more choice & competition thereby reducing prices as the markets responded to the downward pressure.
It amazes me how you lefties continue to prove how ignorant you are of how economics work in the real world.

Nice try but that's another strawman leaking all over you again

If you were smart enough to understand how the industry is controlled by private companies and not the govt. and that the US produces more oil than any other nation in the world.

Interesting. It is hard to fathom that we are told how much more oil we need while also advocating for much of it to be shipped away. That leads to shenanigans.

I suggest ignoring the idiots at FOX News.

But that's the "socialist" in me talking.

chortle
if you dont like fox, why are you watching it....and if others watch, what damned business is that of yours....there are plenty of failing democrat propaganda channels for you to watch and all they talk about is trump so you will be happy there hearing about trump all day every day
