College GOP chairman resigns, joining Democrats

The chairman of the Mississippi Federation of College Republicans has resigned his post and "will be changing my party affiliation to Democrat in the next few days."

Evan Alvarez resigned his post this morning, which was made public by a release sent out by MFCR with a copy of his resignation. In the letter, he says that tea party activists have too much of a voice in the party, "and because of that, the platform of the Republican Party has shifted too far to the right in my opinion." In a separate email to me, he says he has already begun talking with Democrats about joining their party.

Yep.

Ha. College. Argument invalid. Looking for validation in all the wrong places.

The TP/GOP does not want or need smart people at the local level, dummies are easier to fool, what smart people they have are the sociopaths at the top figuring out better ways to keep people scared and pissed-off to the point that rational thought is impossible.

And as a matter of fact.

After about 5 meetings and all his new friends want to talk about are gay issues....
He will say to himself....

What have I done?

Their sociopath poster boy. I read the entire article in the New Yorker last week and I have to say they were very fair to him. ......Maybe they went easy because this photo says it all. "Arrogance" just doesn't seem to quite nail it. "Sociopath", yes. "Super ego", somewhat. I just think it's creepy how his office is in such dark colors. Vampires would approve.

I think you might have that in reverse. I think his GOP friends were obsessed with gay marriage, women's right to abortion and anti-immigration policies and sending troops to Iraq....again. And that's why he jumped.

He'll wise up when he gets out of the Government halls of indoctrination and into the real world. It's just a matter of time.

Looks like it was done by that guy who did all those Paintings for the Olympics.

True.

Since the advent of TPM republicans, the GOP has become less attractive to intelligent, knowledgeable people.
