---"For the first time in Israel, a former Prime Minister went to jail" was the headline in a number of leading news websites around the world. News of Olmert entering jail could be found in the Polish, Turkish, Hungarian, and Russian press, etc. The Washington Post also wrote about Olmert's entry to the gates of the prison while the BBC reported on a video where Olmert rejected the corruption charges against him.
Also CNN broadcast their main story this morning from Ramla: "An Israeli Prime Minister entered jail despite the claims that his acts were not criminal. He will stay in a special area designed for those that have a reason for isolation. We received pictures of Olmert's entry into prison. He will be held as a prisoner but in isolation from the underworld for security reasons."
