Seriously? There was an "Office of Smoking and Health" at the CDC? And it had one hundred and twenty employees? Plus an unknown number of "contractors?"

Go to :37 for the start of Tim Kaine's rant about this all-important office:

WTF would 120 people do all day? Say "Smoking is bad for your health," "It's rilly bad," "It's rilly, rilly bad!," "It's the worst," "It's the worst by double any other thing," "no, tripple!," "no, quadruple!!" etc?

I imagine the "contractors" are what researchers? Not to mention that the office likely gave out millions in grants for college researchers to make rabbits smoke cigars, turtles dip snuff, and the like.

Praise Allah we have these common sense cuts being made. As the future director of CDC stated, CDC is being returned to its core function. I just wonder if the Office of Smoking was considered essential enough that its empoyees were required to come in during COVID. I'd lay odds the answer is - of course not.

BTW: later in the video it turns out that the FDA also has tobacco in its purview, actually regulating it. So, I guess we won't notce the CDC not having this office.

I dont' have to "make of it" anything. It is what it is. Another huge boondoggle.

CDC weren't busy enough with their ever-shifting COVID guidelines?

Lighten Up on Lighting Up

The evidence only proves that smokers with the cancer gene will get lung cancer. So it is a genetic disability, not evidence of the existence of carcinogens.

Ruling class bullies suddenly restricted smoking because it has a masculine image, which was the very reason Philip Morris had created the Marlboro Man. Such images might inspire the plebeians to man up and take the upper class down. The parasite who inherited Morris's money was shamed by his birth-class into becoming a Tobacco Nazi.

Everybody in the world has heard that smoking is very bad for you.

Everybody except little ki. Little kids are told once they get to school. That smoking is bad for them. Unfortunately, they are told this by some of the same adults who also tell them that certain "types of men" can have babies.

When the kids find out that that is b*******, it is easy for them to assume that all the hype about the dangers of smoking is b*******, also.

I always thought that cigarette companies wasted their time. Advertising aimed at young teenagers. Slightly older teenagers will convince every young teenager who is susceptible.I'm too smoke with or without advertising.

That's been going on since some cigar factory worker rolled some cigar shavings into a piece of paper and smoked it.
