Democratic Convention Watch:: Three Ohio cities vying for Convention while Salt Lake City bows out

Ohio's Major Cities Making Big Play For 2016 Political Conventions

Cleveland
Columbus
Cincinnatti

All three are casting their nets out there to host one or both national conventions.

Historical Factoid: the last time a national Convention was in Ohio was in 1936! This means that if a convention is indeed held in Ohio, that will be the first time in 80 years.

The HuffPo article has all sorts of good side information about what each of the three cities has to offer.

I am researching this pretty hard (have been for weeks), but I think this is the first time ever that all three of Ohio's largest cities have vyied to host national conventions all at the same time.

Another electoral factoid: on election night, Ohio put the following candidates over the top (over 270 EV) on at least one major network:

1972 - Nixon (9:28 PM - ABC)
1976 - Carter (03:42 AM - ABC)
1992 - Clinton (10:47 PM - CNN)
2004 - Bush 43 (2:42 PM, November 3, CNN)
2012 - Obama (11:18 CNN, 11:11 NBC)

Cincinnati should get the Republican Convention. It was named for the Order of the Cincinnati, after all.
