Obviously, his success and shutting down most of the illegal entries at our Southern border is a smashing success. Indeed, combined with his determined and ongoing efforts to deport illegal aliens, some would be border-hoppers seem to be giving up their efforts to get in here.

Yeah, if there were a law requiring the federal budget to be balanced, it would be full of loopholes. And we already know that democrats would claim the way to balance the budget is to increase taxes and force the rich to pay their fair share (even though it is the rich paying the lion's share of the taxes).

I have never known democrats to want to raise taxes in order to get the deficit and the debt under control. Every time they get one more dollar in taxes they want to spend two. And, they have this trick they use in that spending is one thing but investing is different. Obama taught them that. "Oh, no, we don't want to spend this 500 billion dollars, we want to invest it in the future. It's an investment.".

The closest we ever got to democrats wanting to actually pay down the debt was in getting Joe Manchin to agree with raising tax revenues in exchange for paying 500 billion dollars down on the debt. It wasn't a weak or two after that when Biden proposed student debt cancellation which, coincidentally, would have cost 500 billion dollars. So, goodbye to paying down 500 billion dollars on the debt.
