keeping information from parents about their school age children is not right.

It is disgusting in fact to do so. Schools are supposed to educate children (they've been doing a bad job of that for several decades now), not perverting them [children].

And smacks of grooming. Public schools are full of groomers these days.

My only d0g in the hunt, is that I was born in Manchester, NH. Live free or die!
The school has no obligation to pass such info on. If the parents don't catch wind of it at home, they aren't spending enough time with the child.

I met my counselor once a year for 60 seconds because for reasons known but to God your counselor had to approve your class schedule after you had already signed up for it and senior year he had to check a box on whether you intended to go to college, the military, or to work. The school nurse and her aid were the only members of the administration who knew me by name because 1) that is where you checked in and out; and 2) she had to bandage me up somewhat regularly from gym class, including my arse when I slid a good layer of the skin off it. Schools shouldn't be spying and narc-ing on kids. They need to keep you alive and occasionally teach you something. Nothing more.
