In a Financial Times article today, the dire state of the cable & satellite pay tv model was highlighted with the staggering reveal that cable subscriptions have dropped to 1992 levels.



Over two million more subscriptions will be cancelled this quarter.



CNN primetime key demo rating are below 100,000.



And while the absolute prelaunch failure of the CNN+ streaming service is well known...Fox Nation's subscription service subscriptions are also abysmal.

The new cable is fiber optic. Other than the way we receive it, streaming, I don't see much difference. You still pay for the more popular services but it is nice that there are numerous free steaming services as well.

The Financial Times article is behind a paywall...

I was able to see it by using the "Bypass Paywalls Clean" addon. It doesn't work on everything, but it works on a lot of sites.

That's why it got removed from the approved add-on lists, copyright infringement claims. So you can't download that addon the normal way. You have to search on "Bypass Paywalls Clean", then read and follow some special installation instructions.

cable tv is a non essential .. because of Bidenomics Americans are being forced to cut back on luxuries and spend on the sky high inflated essentials .

We have satellite but ultimately what will happen is people will stream bundles looking like cable packages from companies without the need to have the cable line running into your house. Streaming is the future, the current streaming models are not. Walling off your content just isn't monetizing well.
