Dodo birds went extinct because they were easy to kill. Passenger pigeons were so plentiful that they darkened the sky in the U.S. in the late 19th and early 20th century and they were easy to kill. Hunters used shotguns with bores the size of cannons to blast them out of trees. The last one died in a zoo around 1939. People were stupid and governments were ignorant. Are we any smarter in the 21st century? They are still killing whales.
