They aren't even trying to hide it any longer. That's not a good sign.

I.R.S. Is Said to Be Considering Whether to Revoke Harvard’s Tax-Exempt Status

The Internal Revenue Service is weighing whether to revoke Harvard’s tax exemption, according to three people familiar with the matter, which would be a significant escalation of the Trump administration’s attempts to choke off federal money and support for the leading research university.

President Trump on Tuesday publicly called for Harvard to pay taxes, continuing a standoff in which the administration has demanded the university revamp its hiring and admissions practices and its curriculum.

Some I.R.S. officials have told colleagues that the Treasury Department on Wednesday asked the agency to consider revoking Harvard’s tax-exempt status, according to two of the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal conversations.

Federal law bars the president from either directly or indirectly requesting the I.R.S. to investigate or audit specific targets. Any attempt to take away Harvard’s tax exemption would be likely to face a legal challenge, which tax experts expect would be successful.
Harrison Fields, a White House spokesman, said the I.R.S.’s scrutiny of Harvard began before the president’s social media post.

Harrison Fields would have us believe trump isn't behind this obvious act of retribution following Harvard's refusal to effectively hand over control of the university to trump in return for continuing to receive federal grant money. Something that stretches credulity beyond any reasonable boundary.

We should be accustomed to the gaslighting by now. It's a constant theme of the regime. But in this instance it's so transparent as to be like a 6 year old denying she ate a chocolate bar before dinner with the evidence smeared all over her face.

It seems to me the members of the regime involved in the decision to try to punish Harvard understand the ridiculous nature of their denial. Understand it stretches credulity. Understand the public will see through it..........and just don't care. Which is troubling. Because it's a signal things are out of control. A signal no act is too outrageous, or too illegal, or too clearly motivated by personal animus, to try. A signal this regime is governing without adult supervision. They have chocolate smeared all over their faces and they don't care who knows it.

Harvard professors are 95% democrat
Why should they get any of my tax dollars?
Their $53b endowment needs to be spent down and taxed.
Why do they now have remedial math classes?
I completely support Trump on getting liberal universities to be more politically neutral.

trump took a shot at trying to get Harvard to let him control the university, the administration told him to go fuck himself, so now he's trying to remove its tax exempt status.

Of course you are okay with it. You were okay with him trying to install himself as the unelected prez too.

Yup. They’re also doing the bidding of the Arabs to indoctrinate students against Israel and Jews. Why should our tax dollars support such institutions?

Liberal universities have become bastions of antisemitism, and Trump is trying to ratchet it down. The libs, who claim to be against bigotry, are fighting him every step of the way in order to continue their anti-Jew agenda.

Just look at what has happened at CUNY. After a year-long effort by the Muslim- and Leftist-indoctrinated leaders to eliminate Jews from their ranks, they have succeeded in making the entire 80-member senior staff Judenfree. And in a city that is 20% Jewish.

Life saving medical research is one reason.

Dr. Sarah Fortune, an immunologist who spends a lot of time in her laboratory at Harvard, never expected to be caught in a battle with the White House.

But early Tuesday morning, she received an official notice to “stop work” on her lab’s federally funded research on tuberculosis, an infectious disease that kills more than a million people a year worldwide.

Just hours earlier, the Trump administration had vowed to freeze $2.2 billion in research funding at Harvard. If fully executed, it will be the deepest cut yet in a White House campaign against elite universities that began shortly after President Trump took office in January. Other universities, including Princeton, Cornell and Columbia, have also seen deep cuts to research funding.

Dr. Fortune’s contract, a $60 million National Institutes of Health agreement involving Harvard and other universities across the country, appeared to be one of the first projects affected. Stop-work notices also began arriving this week at an obscure Harvard office called “sponsored programs” that coordinates federal research funding.

That never happened of course.

Pharmaceutical companies do medical research that taxpayers don't fund.
She can work for one of them.

The lawfare is thick with Trump as president.

Government shouldn't in the business of granting favors, or revoking them. This is why.

Too bad her university won't stop discriminating against people they hate.

Two billion dollars is a whole lot of cash to lose.
