This does not surprise me, when you visit other cultures who don't have a history of gun violence you often don't hear of murders, much less serial killers, but the United States is the home of the serial killer, and many probably decide to drive a truck in order to accomplish this.

What came first, the chicken, or the egg? The over the road lifestyle, or the serial killer?

Considering the concept of "serial killers" is hundreds of years old, I would say that came first.
People actually killing multiple people just for the fun of it has probably been happening forever.

Jack the Ripper would disagree with you. Sweden would disagree with you as one of the most prolific serial killers is Swedish, Sture Ragnar Bergwall, murdered at least 30 people.

Gun violence has nothing to do with serial killers who strangle, stab or take their time torturing. Serial killers are not to be confused with mass murderers who usually have a social or political point.

Of course it has been happening forever, but do damaged people become serial killers after the isolation and long hours of driving a truck, or do serial killers decide that their best opportunity to find victims is to go over the road?

Certainly, in some instances, both, and one compliments the other.

Have you ever met a killer of any kind! Which ones were long haul truck drivers?

Not today, these truck drivers work in vehicles with GPS and controlled information fed back to the employers in many circumstances. It wouldn't be difficult to track a guy who stops his vehicle en route at certain points and the time he stops correlates with the finding of a body etc.

Our species is messed up, this much is certain. I can't tell you how many times I've interacted with a human being and felt evil, sensed something missing. It could be at the poker table, in a government office or just a random interaction. Everyone has secrets, some are innocuous such as a guy married to a woman who is secretly gay, or maybe they have a drinking or gambling vice, others are in the darkest corners of depravity.

This is why Good Men must remain truly Good Men.

The worst serial killers in history as far as body counts are from Britain and South America.

Pedro Lopez from Columbia murdered over 300, mostly young girls.

British Doctor Harold Shipman killed an estimated 250 patients.

I'm not sure if you would consider the Thugge cult from Indian serial killers but this group strangled somewhere around 30,000 people.

What I would do is import more Somalis to take over more of the over the road runs........

Lot of owner operators out there, watch the video I kindly provided you.

If you're a serial killer, you didn't get that way making dumb mistakes.

You are discussing methods, I was discussing culture.

Yeesh ... I was thinking more along the lines of Caligula ... Attila the Hun ... Josef Stalin ... truck drivers with guns is petty ...

How many Jews did the English slaughter before trucks were invented? ...

Xi and Fauci killed millions

I'd say the poisoned being smuggled into the U.S would be tops on the list. Pure evil what they are bringing into the U.S.
There is a highway in Canada somewhere where all the First Nation girls go missing, it's a crazy number of girls picked up hitchiking and are never seen again.

I know, it's really messed up. The police don't have the resources or manpower to track them all and I've been critical of them if they watch resources chasing rabbits (such as myself).

It is exponentially more complicated when there are territorial and even jurisdiction disputes and cultural barriers I'm sure.
