Pure desperation. If they go to Ukraine then they quickly regret this and wanna go back to safe prison.
"If you survive for 6 months you are pardoned and can go home". This is why Ukrainians will win. These recruits going there has no motivation other than surviving either for paycheck or for pardon like these guys.. Ukrainians fight for their country. Huge difference in their motivation and morale.
