The Olympics have largely been ruined by being overhyped, leaving nothing to suspense, and rarely living up to the hype. NBC has already been promoting the summer Olympics. Now add in all the ridiculous medal events (flag football?), and the "Agony of Defeat" Olympics are just a memory, nowhere to be found today.
