Why not just be truthful and compare apples to apples if you are actually comparing prices of items this yr vs last?

I'm not cooking jack squat nothin for Thanksgiving. I'm buying my Thanksgiving meal from the Dutch Farmer's Market this year. And I get the whole works made fresh.

I think it's around 150 Federal Reserve Notes.

Wal-Mart created this marketing strategy, of saying you could have t-day dinner for 25% less, just to pull people in to the store...without focusing on telling customers it has more Wal-Mart brands and less actual items bought!

Yeah. And then the other side of it is that government gets in on the flim flam in the same way that it does when it tries to pawn off the notion that inflation isn't affecting the American standard of living when they substitute chained CPI.

Chained CPI, btw, is a method of measurement which purposefully understates inflations effect on the standard of living.

I other words, if Americans buy hamburger because they can no longer afford to buy steak anymore, since inflation has caused its price to rise above affordability, by using chained cpi it is assumed that Americans would have bought hamburger instead of steak even before inflation made it too expensive. So, again, they roll with the full substitution gig so they can justify reporting rainbows and unicorns instead of reality.

It's basically legalized lying to Americans about the effect of inflation on their standards of living.

I haven't gotten to the point of just buying the whole shebang prepared yet....I still like cooking it, and spend a whole 3 days or so doing that...but...I simply like it! Its so rewarding seeing people saying, YUMMY! Even if I am exhausted when said and done!

IF I only were to cook only one meal a year, it would be Thanksgiving!

Like mother like daughter I suppose! My mom didn't give up on cooking it, until she got in to her 80s....

Everything Trump has done would have made it better, but just as you and your party are fighting Trump in hopes to remain globalized at any cost, we'll that is causing everything to take longer to fix and move onward into a better place and time.
