Back in the days when we had a merchant fleet our civilian ships were used to carry troops. In fact I was shipped to Vietnam on a civilian ship.

But our billionaire ship owners decided it would aid their quest for unlimited profits to re-register their ships as foreign so as to get out of paying American wages.

Therefore the only commercial ships are now foreign. Why blame Obama and Democrats instead of the greed head oligarchs?
