The Chefs won another close game they should have lost.

And guess why?

The refs refused to call their right tackle for false-starts and refused to call holding on them.

Chef right tackle Jawann Taylor moved early on almost every snap and it was never called. Even Chris Collinsworth pointed it out.

And on almost every important play it was easy to spot that the Chefs were holding and it was never called, but every time the Chargers looked like they were going to start rolling the refs called holding.

I've noticed a lot of bad no-calls this year.

I'm wondering if the speed of the game (as it regards the players) has so increased the refs just can't keep up with it all.

I mean you now have 350+# linemen quicker than the refs.

Perhaps the refs themselves are the problem.....Damn few look under 50.

Of course, one would be remiss not to consider all the gambling tied to the NFL now.

An estimated $100 billion is wagered at legal sportsbooks during the NFL season.....

A hold has to be maintained for it to be called. Unless you're playing the Chefs.

The Chefs can hold all they want, and the other team gets holding calls if the other team just touches them.

This is part of the reason why the Chefs defense always gets penetration. They know if anyone holds them they'll march them back 10 yds. So the Chefs pin their ears back on every play looking for a hold to reverse any big gains by the other team's offense. The NFL is helping the Chefs win games.

I think Taylor Swift is in the network, and because she's with the Chefs.....the Chefs get special treatment.

Almost every single time that Mahomes got clear of the pocket and made a big play there was a hold that sprung him.

The offsides was clear and an easy call. No call. There is a ref specifically standing there watching for that. They've called lesser offsides.

You are still harping on the no-calls in one particular game.....OK, I get it, but it is happening all across the NFL.

The Buffalo/LA game has some weird-ass calls and no-calls too.

Still harping? I started this fucking thread less than 30 mins ago.

STFU.

It does look like the NFL is helping particular teams.

But the one that seems to be getting the most help is Kansas City.

This year? KC. Last year, someone else. Next year, a different team.

It depends on the narrative the owners have all settled on, in order to get folks to watch.

If you understand how professional sports work, you understand that all of them are government protected cartels.

IOW? The owners all revenue share, so it really doesn't matter to them much who wins or loses.

It is like a Soviet Era commune. The better the whole leagues do, the more profit ALL the owners make. Thus? It is in their interest to keep games as close as possible in score, generate as much buzz and press as possible, and make them all seem as competitive as possible.

They also, (in conjunction with the controlled press,) seek to push propaganda and heroic narratives of various franchises and athletes.

IMO, it was rigged since the day they decided only two teams would play on Turkey Day way back when.

If we go into the records, way back in the distant past, there were such things as "blow-outs," quite regularly. That doesn't happen so much since the 60's and 70's I believe. I just quit watching a long long LONG time ago, as professional sports, are, IMO, much like politics, celebrity, wall-street, and much of America.

FAKE.

NFL Refs in general are not very good. That's why we need a rules change to allow an additional coaches' challenge for 4th quarter calls AND non-calls. There may be some added incentive to help the Chiefs get to their 3rd straight Super Bowl with the new Swiftie fan base. The league is all about expanding the fan base.

It's not just the NFL. In the Texas vs Georgia game.....it was clear that the refs rigged the game from the outset.

They were just trying to make sure Georgia made it into the CFP instead of Alabama or Miami.

But in cases like the Chefs it becomes a little obvious what's going on.

Part of the reason I don't like watching the NFL more than NCAAFB is because in the NFL they call too many penalties.

I just like them to let them play.....unless it gets out of control. And the Chefs can do whatever they want to anyone and the refs will ignore it.

The only way to stop this problem, to truly stop it, in any of the professional sports league, is to have the refs controlled by an independent organization, which does not depend on the success or failure of any single team or league.

Essentially, the goal, should be to make the various professional sports league rent officiating from a disinterested company.

As long as the leagues pay the refs from the same profit pool of the owners? All the safeguards in the world won't matter, b/c the many of the coaches are in on the racket as well.

When important challenges need be made at the right time? If the coaches want to make sure they will continue to have a career, nothing will be said.

Nothing new. I have been claiming it is rigged since 2019

Everyone knows that the Chefs aren't the best team this year.

The reason they aren't the best (but has the best record) is because the refs are rigging their games.

It's like in basketball, if you know the refs aren't gonna call fouls on you, you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Interesting idea, but how would this Independent company be funded and how could they train their officials without hundreds of games worth of real-time experience with Pros playing at full speed?
