China is rapidly automating their manufacturing processes with robotics. About 5 to 6 times as fast as anyone else. While we are denigrating our engineers and scientists at the highest level, they are giving them the tools to innovate. And it is showing. Like most of the advanced world, China has an aging population and this is definitely the only way to maintain the wealth of a nation with an aging population. In the meantime we are trying to go back to the 19th century in energy and education. Here is an article on what our industry heads that have visited China are saying;

Why do people buy into all the propaganda about China? China makes cheep sh!t to keep their population employed so they do revolt. What's gonna happen when the 100's of millions of people in china are put out of work by "robots"...

The Xinping Regime is obsessed with taking down the US and becoming the world's superpower. They attack America directly through cyberattacks and Fentanyl poisoning and indirectly through Tik Tok and other social media platforms.
All true. But that does not change the fact that they are getting ahead of us in manufacturing capabilities. And they are rewarding their innovators rather than denigrating them as our present admin is doing.

Did not even bother to read the article before posting an inane answer. This was not Chinese propaganda, this was what our industrial CEO's are saying they have seen in China. Had you read the article, you would know that it is this rapid automation and policy driven innovation that has been the driver of the vastly increased standard of living in China in the last 20 years.

Of course CEO's doing business with China are going to say positive things...

China invents nothing. They steal what others create.

Your OP is an epic fail.

do you think DEI could help with that problem?

Mon Ro Doctrine

Only as long as we are butting in on their sphere of influence. We need to get our military out of the Pacific Rim. The Chinese point of view is what ours would be if they had bases all over the Gulf of America.

Do you know who Alan Turing was? Do you think you will ever contribute even 1% of what he did? So you hate anyone different than you, and would persecute them by denying them jobs at which they excel. As long as someone's self identification does not harm others, it is none of our business, no matter how foolish we believe it to be. That is freedom. And people like you fear freedom more than anything else.

Totally disagree. We have many allied nations that are democracies in the area. Any major power that has empire in their mind is an enemy of democracy, and a danger to the rest of the world, particularly in a nuclear armed world. One dictator as mad as Hitler was, and the world will be many, many generations getting back to where we are now. If ever.

China is a paper tiger.
No nation with nukes and means of delivery is a paper tiger. I don't Xi would use them aggressively, but with the present top down form of dictatorship there, can the same be said of whomever succeeds him?

Getting with These People Will Make Us Throw off Our Decadence

They have made many inventions, such as gunpowder. A long-suppressed creativity is within their DNA.
Gunpowder was over 1500 years ago. And they didn't figure out how to use it properly.
